WTWO Wins Station of the Year
Terre Haute, Indiana (November 14, 2011)- WTWO NBC 2 was awarded
Station of the Year by the Indiana Broadcasters Association at the 24th
annual Spectrum Awards dinner held in Indianapolis Saturday night. The
Spectrum Awards recognize broadcast excellence in the state of Indiana.

NBC 2 was also honored as Jesse Walker won the First Place award for
Weathercast and the News Department won First Place in the Newscast
category.

Sturgess commented, “We are honored to be recognized by the Indiana
Broadcasters Association with these awards. The Station of the Year
award is great recognition for our entire staff who works hard day in
and day out. And nobody works harder than Jesse Walker to keep viewers
educated and informed on important weather issues in the Wabash
Valley. Our News Department works tirelessly at presenting the news in
a fair and balanced fashion and is definitely deserving of this honor.”

Pensky was a finalist in the Sportscast category as well. The news
program Valley Business Weekly that airs on WTWO’s sister station WAWV
was also nominated for an award in the Cross Platform Use of TV
category.
WTWO is owned by Nexstar Broadcasting and provides services to Mission Broadcasting’s WAWV through a joint services agreement.

Edge Promoted to Director of Sales
Terre Haute, IN - Doug Edge has been promoted to Director of Sales of Nexstar Broadcasting’s WTWO NBC 2 and WFXW FOX 38 TV stations in Terre Haute, Indiana. Nexstar operates the local NBC and FOX affiliates serving West Central Indiana and East Central Illinois.Edge joined the stations in January of this year as the Local Sales Manager and is the host of Valley Showcase on WTWO NBC 2 Friday's at 11am EST.
In March of this year Edge helped launch a new local business show called Valley Business Weekly on FOX 38. The thirty minute show airs at 10 am EST and is re-aired at 10pm EST on Sunday’s. Nexstar recently recognized the show as one of the best new ideas among their family of TV stations nationwide. The show has also been nominated for an award from the Indiana Broadcasters Association. "We are excited to promote Doug Edge to Director of Sales. He is well respected in the community and has been a driving force in our sales efforts this year" stated Tim Sturgess, VP/General Manager of Nexstar’s Terre Haute stations.
Edge also serves as Co-Chair of the Small Business Committee for the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and is an Advisory Board member for the West CentralIndiana SmallBusiness DevelopmentCenter. Edge is a Vigo County Extension Board Member and is an active volunteer for 4H and FFA. He is a Deacon at NewCovenantFellowship Church in Terre Haute.
A new locally produced TV show has hit the WabashValley.Valley Business Weekly recently began airing on FOX 38 with a focus on the WabashValley business community.
The program is a thirty minute long show filled with local business news from the past week, a business events calendar, a small business spotlight and guest interview segments.Each week an area Chamber of Commerce is featured and the show takes viewers behind the scenes of a local business in the “Working in the Valley” segment.
Valley Business Weekly is hosted by Doug Edge.Edge is a recent addition to Nexstar Broadcasting’s WTWO and WFXW TV stations.He joined the stations in January and began hosting duties for Valley Showcase on Friday’s at 11am on WTWO.He also serves as the stations Local Sales Manager. “Being a part of launching a new show focused on local businesses has been very exciting. It is something I have always wanted to do.” stated Edge.
Long time news veteran Tom McClanahan covers the local business news for Valley Business Weekly.Heather Penney the Regional Director for the WestCentralIndianaSmallBusinessDevelopmentCenter at the ISU Scott College of Business hosts the small business spotlight feature.

Doug Edge Joins WTWO WFXW
Terre Haute, IN - Doug Edge has joined Nexstar Broadcasting Group's WTWO WFXW TV stations in Terre Haute, Indiana. Edge will serve as the Local Sale Manager and host Valley Showcase on WTWO Friday's at 11am EST. Nexstar operates the local NBC and FOX affiliates serving West Central Indiana and East Central Illinois. Edge begins January 4, 2010.
"I am pleased to join the team at WTWO and WFXW. They have a lot of exciting projects going on and with the Winter Olympics coming up on NBC it should be a very fast paced start," Edge stated. Edge served as General Manager for Crossroads Communications in Terre Haute until May of 2009. This will mark his first experience in TV broadcasting.
Edge Marketing will no longer be accepting new clients. Doug's wife Lisa will continue to manage the marketing and rentals for the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds. Doug will continue to work on the Wabash Valley Business Incubator and Educational Center.
